Each year brings a new set of rules, regulations, and payment programs from Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and other payers. These changes can mean that well-established processes that are ingrained in the workflow may no longer be optimal nor compliant. In this session, Hirsch reviews the changes adopted by Medicare in 2019, in the 2020 IPPS Final Rule, and those expected in the 2020 OPPS, Physician Fee Schedule rule, and the Discharge Planning Conditions of Participation, all of which will be crucial to the success of care coordination.
